Last day of Brownies

We made flags with important words, had a nature hunt, cleaned up the playground from trash and passed the ball to talk about our favorite scout memory from the year...

A Great Adventure is About to Begin!

These have tails that ask - what do you want to be, what do you hope to learn, where do you want to go?

ABC LETTER HUNT

This is filled with couscous and abc beads
when they shake and find a letter kids write it down. If they can make a word after they find all the letters... bonus!

Origami at the Arboretum

We visited our Arboretum last week and there is an awesome giant origami exhibit right now. Here are a couple of photos my 11 year old took.

FUNKY NAME POSTERS

We started with a letter hunt and the kids pieced it together however they wanted.
I have to say their personalities came through in each of them :)

Farm Inspiration

Chickens.... We handprinted a giant sheet of paper first with red/orange paint. Then I cut out shapes of chickens/roosters and the kids dot painted over the top of the paint and added feathers, feet and eyes
Barn quilts: After looking at many different barn quilt patterns we discussed shape and color patterns.  I folded square paper in different patterns and had some kids try this themselves. Then we colored in the different shapes that we saw on the folds.

testing some farm equipment textures for a future project....

 Sunflowers painted with a fork
