Playing with the hose lead to an awesome conversation about how water reflects light.... The sunbeams weren't showing up until they were showered with water......
Today we made little nests out of all of our old scrap paper, a little water, and some liquid starch. Some kids didn't like the gooey feel of the wet paper so I found some big tweezers to help with the project :)
Final picture coming soon......
We have had a broken bike in the shed for a while at school and decided to bring it in for "repairs". We have been looking at Alexander Calders sculptures this month and talking about sculpture in general. The kids were delighted to see the bike in the classroom last week with a bowl of "supplies" to fix/enhance/design with. This is the beginning......
We have been collecting caps as a class for a collaborative project. Once we collected a huge box full we spent some time sorting by color and counting by 5's and 10's. Next, we played a game by rolling colored dice to match the color and place the caps. Our project will end up spelling the name of our preschool - Kaleidoscope. Each classroom has a panel with three letters on it.... See the final project below!
Today we took a closer look to see dot patterns in our paper towels. We have been looking around for more dots as we work on our collaborative bottle cap project.
